It has been an excellent vacation day one. Dublin Airport was a breeze. It gets my international traveler thumbs up for speedy and organized customs and luggage recovery. Signage to car rental was also easy. I’m not in love with Alamo’s bait and switch on their pricing model — but the car did fit 4 of us, 4 suitcases & the guitar case and in the end, that’s what matters.
I conquered my worries about left-sided driving. Dublin arrows on streets made it easy. . . Although I do believe I had heart palpations at every right turn!
We explored a bit of the “Viking & Medieval” section of Dublin during the day.
I took photos of interesting old items . . .
And I took funny photos . . .
And, only in Ireland would there be an entire rack of “O” photos…
Finally, it is closing in on midnight and we are at the event around which this trip to Ireland was inspired.

We are finally here. In an awesome small live music venue. We are ready to absorb the experience of #TheLukaState in person.
Creating amazing experiences and positive memories for our almost grown kids is absolutely worth the effort!
There are only 940 Saturdays before kids turn 18. There are far far far less family getaways.
Make every single one count if you can.
~20 minutes until the midnight gig!
