Right this moment it is Thursday night, my last evening on the Vermont vacation with the eldest.
We had a very chill day where we didn’t get in the car once. We “wiked” the mountainside trails that start within view of our room between meals.
This time taking the more rocky paths but also staying low and not selecting the steep inclines. It was relaxing and unexpectedly beautiful.
The original plan had been to drive to the hour plus to Montreal and somehow neither of us were in the mood to go anywhere but here.
Yes, we wanted to be in Canada… we just didn’t want to drive.
It made for an easy day.
Now, we are spending the evening eating chicken stacker nachos and watching silly fun movies. And pausing when a classic quotable scene comes along so we can laugh like kids watching it for the first time.
There is a saying about cherishing the 940 Saturdays before your child turns 18.
Today is a Thursday… and also a spontaneous “Saturday” with my 19 year old.
Photo prompts are by me and for me.
