Luna had surgery. We’ve had this in the planning for a while so it wasn’t a surprise.
Nevertheless, this is going to be a rough 2-3 months of recovery for the pup. Correspondingly, it will be rough for us as well. I’m sitting here on the floor with her trying to write. It’s not easy because she alternates between desperately wanting to play and wanting to snuggle on the sofa together.
It’s moments like these that make you realize how much like a toddler they can be.
Old enough to have an expressive personality all their own, to know the way the rhythms of life and family is supposed to flow around then, yet not able to understand their parents.
And Cagney is no happier for Luna’s convalescence as it means I’m spending time on the floor with Luna that she believes should be spent on the sofa with her, it’s a no-win for both of them.
It’s going to be a different kind of exhausting parenting journey than the usual.

Lulu: “I had surgery and had to wear a cone once! But the recovery was much faster than that. I am sending lots of fluffy tail wags for Luna to feel better soon!”
