Big Dog and Little Dog are at it again
Watching my every move with a slight frown on their faces
They know what packing means as they see me do it so often. . .
This time it isn’t just me fiddling with piles of clothes and a suitcase.
They watch, they learn, they know that more of us are going
Hawks’ faces hide their feelings
Impenetrable eyes that tell you little.
Big Dog and Little Dog express everything
They wine, fuss, pout letting let us know that they know
They are not interested in our excuses or our human needs
They are watching, waiting, worrying
